Damn disappointed.
Found out that both Dabing(tank) and Yb(healer) is gonna quit WoW when school starts. Can't even play on weekend. :(
P.S. Don't worry, I don't blame you two. Understand that school more priorities etc. =)

Without a tank and healer, no point playing.
Other people quit their guild to come join mine, and now they can't go back.
Don't know what to say to them.

Think I change server to save face.

Recently, I know you guys are getting sick of World of Warcraft. Somehow, I know you won't have the patience to level up to 70. So you are getting lost in the game.

Well, if you are still interested in the game. This is a quick guide on how to level up faster without being Sick of it.

1. Make sure your professions are being levelled up at the same time. It sucks to go back to a lower level area just to mine copper or just to pick up some linen cloth when you are already high level.

2. Stick to quests that say kill 10 ogres or retrieve 10 raptor fangs etc. These quests are the BEST to level up with.

3. Plan your route. After getting a handful of quests, look them up in www.wowhead.com or www.thottbot.com for the coordinates and information on the quest. Then plan your route.

4. If you are in an area with lots of mobs with RED level or ??, you are in the wrong area.

Here are some places to level up.

Level 30+ : Arathi Highlands, Stranglehorn Vale ( I usually go both)
Level 40+ : Tanaris, Hinterlands, Swamp of Sorrows, Blasted Lands (Tanaris rules)
Level 50+ : Ungoro Crater, Felwood, Winterspring, Western Plaguelands, Eastern Plaguelands

I use the Addon Metamap as it reveals the fog of war and provides me with nice coordinates.
For questing, I use the addon call Lightheaded for information without returning to windows.

WoW Countdown

Today, Ahphua came to my house to take the WoW game. His brother is setting it up tonight.
Project WoW Party is expected to start on Wednesday, 5th December at 8pm.
We can PARTY TILL DAWN. Who cares about Zouk Out?

So everybody, please make sure you got your WoW game installed and patched by that time. If you do not have it, please get it from me asap. There is alot to prepare, so best that you prepare it early like Mac.

The Hungering Cold

Ok, to the part about servers.

I have not played in other servers before so I do not know if there are many bugs in the other servers.
The only other server I have tried is wowscape
and it sucks big time. Lots of bugs but hundreds of people online.

I went to look online for other servers that are not funservers. Funservers are servers that have stuff like instant level 70, the ability to fly around and other nonsense. Takes the fun out of playing in my opinion.

I filtered the lousy servers away to this 3 servers.
Toxic WoW, WoWThanku, WoW.vtout
I have not played in any of these servers yet, so I do not know whether they are buggy or not. There are a hundred plus people playing on each of the servers, so it is medium populated.

The final point I want to make is, I want to let you guys decide on what server to play, so if the server is shitty, I won't get crap from you.

Otherwise we can always play at the server I have been playing in, Gideon's Lair.
Low populated, but confirmed less bugs, and if there is a problem, there will be a GM to help you.
I also have been saving items for you guys so you already have a nice base foundation to work on. But if we start at a new server, we will be starting from scratch.

As you guys already know I am playing on a low populated server call Gideons Lair. I went to do more research on private servers and I came out with a few websites.

c) High Exp Rates(40 times) or Medium(10 times) or abit (2.5 times) ?
d) Play in a server where I already have high level characters ?

So what kind of servers do you guys want? Please tag on your priorities, a, b,c ,d, in order from the highest to the lowest priority. Thank you.

WoW Update 1

Good news everybody!

Just had a talk with Dabing and he wants to be a WARRIOR! The main tank for us. Now we need to find a healer.

In WoW, a healer and tank can go fight bosses together. Without one of them, the party is doomed. That is why healers and tanks and even hybrids are more valuable than DPS.
DPS just makes the time to kill bosses shorter. Parties can still the bosses without them.

During raids, if a nice sword drop and the tank and a rogue wants it, the tank will get it. Reason why? Because the tank is more important than the rogue.
Same thing when a nice wand drop and a mage and a priest wants it. The priest will get it.

Conclusion: Tanks and Healers have item priority.

PARTY RULES

If there are 2 rogues in the party, and a nice sword drop and both of the rogues want it, the 2 rogues must roll for it. Just like rolling a dice. The one who rolls the highest score will get it.

Anyone who just takes items without rolling or takes items that do not belong to their class are call NINJAS.
Once you ninja something, you are blacklisted in the server. Nobody will want to let you into their party. You won't be able to be in any guilds etc.
So bottomline is, DO NOT NINJA. *attention kalong*

Hybrids

Why be a jack of all trades, master of none when you can be a master of 1? Many people like to take the DPS Class such as Rogue, Mages and Warlock. But what about hybrids?

Hybrids are very valuable in WoW, because they can do everything. They might not be able to do as good as the primary class, but they can do EVERYTHING.

For example, a rogue and a druid. Both of this class wears leather armour, and has roughly the same amount of life.
The rogue can deal more damage than the druid.
However, the druid can tank and heal too!

Here is an example.
A party consisting of a druid/rogue, priest and warrior are in a dungeon raiding. The party happens to aggro 2 hard hitting enemies. The warrior immediately engage 1 enemy and start dealing threat to him. The other enemy attacks the rogue and hits the rogue dealing him lots of damage as the rogue has less life and armour. The priest who is healing the warrior, cannot heal the rogue in time and the rogue dies.
If a druid was present instead of the rogue, he can shapeshift into Bear Form and tank the enemy. Once he has killed the enemy, he can shapeshift into Cat Form and help the warrior fight his enemy. If the enemy is hitting the warrior too hard, he can turn back into his original form and heal the warrior.

A reason why I want to be a Blood Elf. They are the most good looking in the game!

There are currently 3 hybrids in WoW. Shaman, Paladin and Druid.
This is a rating comparison for the 3 hybrids on how good they are in.

Tank
It is a close fight between Paladin and Druid but the Paladin wins. Shaman who wears mail armour can't tank as well as these 2.
DPS
Shaman wins, follow by Druid and lastly Paladin. Paladin is one of the worst DPS class in the game lol.

Heal
Again, its a close fight between the Paladin and Druid. The Druid is better at healing a group as he has spells that heal everybody. However, the Paladin is the most powerful single target healing class. The Paladin heal is so good that he is on the same par as the Priest! The Shaman can heal, but not as good.

Buffs
All 3 classes are able to cast buffs to make the party stronger. This time, Paladin wins follow by the Shaman and lastly, the Druid.

Versatility
The Druid wins this one. This is because, he just have to put his talent points in his shapeshifting skills to be able to shapeshift and change roles. The Paladin and Shaman however, has to re-spec to be able change roles. They still can do other roles but not as good when they focus their talent points.

As you can see, each of the hybrids are good in their own way. If you want more DPS orientated, you take Shaman. You want a more healing and tanking class, you take Paladin. You want a class that is good in everything and balanced out in skills, you take the Druid.

WoW Information Part 5

Today we will talk about group tactics.

When a group attack a monster, the group will generate threat against the monster. For example, in the group there is a warrior, a priest and a mage.
When the warrior attacks the monster, he deals damage and a hidden amount of threat. The monster will then attack the person who deals the most number of threat.
If the warrior attacks the monster and deals 100 threat, and the mage casts fireball and deals 200 threat and the priest cast a heal at the warrior and deal 50 threat(Yes! healing generates threat too!), the monster will attack the mage as he deals the most amount of threat.

This is important as you want the monster to attack the warrior and not the mage. If the monster attacking the warrior suddenly change target and attack the mage, the mage might not be able to survive the damage as he has low life and low armour, and will die. Therefore, to prevent this, you have to make sure that you do not deal more threat then the warrior.

The DPS classes like rogues and mages therefore have to watch out for their threat. They have to deal the maximum damage as possible but have to always be below the threat deal by the warrior.

The term "aggro" means that the monster is currently attacking who. For example, Tay has aggro. This means that the monster is currently attacking Tay.

Note: I am thinking of making a Blood Elf Paladin. I already have a Night Elf Warrior, a Night Elf Rogue, and a Human Priest. Don't really want to make another Alliance character. But if everybody strongly want to be Alliance, then I guess i have to suck my thumb and be Alliance :D

WoW Information Part 4

There are many private servers online. The hardest thing is finding the best one that suits everybody. The one I am currently playing on is a low populated server call Gideon's Lair. It is so low that I found out that I was the only one online in the server for the whole afternoon! This is because the server is Canada based, so most of them come online at Singapore time morning or at night.

I did the few searches for more suitable servers and this is the list I got.

1. Gideons Lair - This is the server which I have been playing on. I have 1 lvl 70 warrior, 1 lvl 52 priest and 1 lvl 52 rogue there. 99% of the quests are working there and I say about 90% of the spells are working too. It has a LOW population, mainly because it doesn't advertise much. Stuff are being updated regularly. Experience rates is 2.5 times faster than the official game.

2. Wowscape - This is the server with a very very high population. Although it has a very high population(about 500+ online), alot of stuff are spoiled. When your character has a bug or something is spoiled with your character, it will take a very long time for a GM to come solve the bug for you. VERY LONG TIME. Although it has so many things that are spoiled, alot of people play on it because its experience rates is 40 times faster than the official game.

I do not really like experience rates that are so many times faster than the official game. This is because, you level up too fast until you are not really playing the game properly. You are just getting to level 70 asap and not experiencing the other content the game has to offer.

There are many more servers online, but its hard to find which is the best.
So which servers would you guys prefer to play?

WoW Information Part 3

Today we shall be talking about the other stuff you can do in the World of Warcraft.
Besides the normal raiding(killing Illidan Stormrage or Lady Vashj), there is also something call PvP(player vs player).

PvP can take place in 2 situations, world and arena.
In world, as you travel around the world, you are bound to meet other players. If you are the Alliance, then the Scourge will be your enemy. Upon meeting them, you can kill them for honour points. These points can be used to buy unique items.
In arena, you form a team with your friends and fight other teams. This is something like Dota where a team of 2,3 or 5 players fights against each other. Combos and teamwork is essential to survive.

Unfortunately, the server I am playing in have a low population. The most I have seen online at a time is 30+ people. However, I like the server because there are very little bugs. However, if you guys want to change to a more populated server, I have to find another server. But I do not mind =)Sitting on the throne of the Lich after killing him

In World of Warcraft, your character is allowed to learn 2 main professions and 3 secondary professions.
There are many 10 main professions and 3 secondary professions.
The 10 primary professions are Enchanting, Tailoring, Mining, Blacksmithing, Skinning, Leatherworking, Herbalism, Alchemy, Jewelcrafting and Engineering.
Each of these professions got their own benefits to your character. For example, if you have enchanting, you can enchant your weapons to deal more damage or if you have Blacksmithing, you can make a sword to use.

The 3 secondary professions are Cooking, Fishing and First Aid. These 3 professions are very important despite it being called secondary. First Aid can help your character heal faster, Cooking can help your character create food to eat to heal and Fishing is fishing for fish to eat or cook.

It is highly recommended that all of us take different professions. In this way, we can share the benefits of the 10 professions. For example, Tay has enchanting and he enchants all of our swords to deal more damage. Mak, who has Alchemy, can create potions of giant strength to make us more powerful.Fighting the Blue Dragon, Saphiroth again.

Sometimes, the Gamemasters aka GMs, will organise events for the players to take part. For example, sheep tag, or a foot race or hide and seek. There are rewards for winning these small events and it is quite fun too.

Note: The warrior and healing spot hasn't been taken up yet. So far, Mak and Yip have expressed interest in taking the rogue. Do not take the same class, if not you will be fighting over the same gear. However, I do not mind 2 warriors. Warriors can change from tanking to killers while rogues are only killers.
I want to be a paladin =) because I already have a warrior, priest and rogue.

WoW Information Part 2

After choosing the class you want to be, you have to choose the race you want to be.
Certain race can be certain classes only. For example, a human can be a priest, but cannot be a hunter or druid.

First, we have to choose the side we want to be on. The Alliance or The Scourge.

The Alliance consists of Human, Dwarf, Gnome, Night Elf and Draenei.
The Scourge consists of Undead, Orc, Troll, Tauren and Blood Elves.

IMPT!
A guild can only have Alliance members or Scourge members. Cannot have both. However, you can be in a same party as the opposite faction and can go on raids together. But cannot be in the same guild. Therefore, it is best that we choose a side first and everyone chooses the race on that side.

There are always more Alliance characters than Scourge characters in the game. However, in my opinion, the Blood Elves are the most coolest looking characters in the game.

Dwarf - Warrior, Rogue, Priest, Hunter, Paladin

Troll - Warrior, Rogue, Priest, Mage, Hunter, Shaman
Blood Elf - Paladin, Rogue, Priest, Mage, Warlock, Hunter

Each race have their own racial abilities.
For example, Night Elf have the ability Shadowmeld. They are able to turn invisible just like the Warcraft 3 game.

So, those who are interested in playing, please tag your race and class you wanna use. And I will arrange the party. =)

WoW Information Part 1

Very happy with the sudden interest in World of Warcraft. Finally, my friends are willing to play with me after so many months of persuasion. World of Warcraft is addictive i admit, but its hard to play alone so its hard to PLAY ADDICTIVELY.
In WoW, you can be rested or normal. In rested mode, you gain twice the amount of experience you get from kills, while on normal you only get the normal amount of experience. Therefore, it is not worth it to play for 24 hours consecutively. The game only lets u play until you level 2.5 levels before you become normal mode. You have to logged out at an inn or in a major city and stop playing for several hours before you become rested again.
So, the addictiveness can be curbed. =D

Anyway, here is some information on WoW.
There are 9 classes to choose from. Every class have different roles to play in the game. There are mainly 3 main roles - Tank, DPS(damage per second or killers) and healers.
Here are the 9 classes.

TANKS
1. Warrior - Warriors are primarily tanks, as they wear plate armour and have the highest amount of HP in the game. However, they can also fill the role of DPS. Melee fighter.

DPS
2. Rogue - One of the best DPS class in the game. They can deal alot of damage. Weak armour and HP. Similar to agility heroes in Dota. Melee fighter.

3. Hunter - Another good DPS class. They are number 1 in range combat. They can have a pet to follow them around like fluff in facebook. So its quite fun playing with them.

4. Mage - The best magic DPS class in the game. On top of that, they have powerful AOE(Area of effect) skills. So they can kill several enemies at once and on top of that, they can sheep humanoids :)

5. Warlock - Damage not as powerful as Mage, but this class have several skills that makes him so valuable to a party. He can summon minions to fight for you and has the most powerful DoTs(Damage over time) spells in the game.

HEALERS
6. Priest - Number 1 healer in the game. However, the priest can also function as a very good DPS class. The priest have spells like Vampiric touch, that heals the entire party for damage done. Very good vampiric spells.

HYBRIDS
7. Paladin - The paladin can heal, tank and DPS. Although not as good in tanking as warrior, healing as a priest, or dealing damage as a rogue, he can do all 3 so his role changes as the game situation changes.

8. Druid - The druid can do what the paladin does too. However, the druid can change roles easier compared to the paladin. This is because he can shapeshift and change roles instantly.

9. Shaman - The shaman can heal and DPS. He can tank too, but not very good. But the best thing about the shaman is his ability to summon totems to help the party, summon bloodlust and chain heal.

Note to all: The same as Dota, everytime you level up, you gain a talent point. You can place the talent point in different skills to define your character.
For example, you want to focus your priest on DPS rather than healing. So everytime you level up, you place a talent point in the DPS skills rather than the healing skills. You still can heal but not as good as a priest who place all his talent points in his healing skills.

A summary on all the classes.(from the best to the last)
Tanking - Warrior, Druid/Paladin
Melee DPS - Rogue, Warrior/Druid/Shaman, Paladin
Range DPS - Hunter(the rest sucks.)
Magic DPS - Mage(also number 1 in AOE), Warlock, Priest

In certain situations, a priest DPS is better than a mage DPS. Or a rogue DPS can be the lowest in the party instead of the highest. Therefore, there is no number 1 class in the game. All the class are important, and has their own unique spells.

However, in every party, there must be a tank and healer. In my post in 02s21.blogspot.com, I mentioned that there are 5 people who wants to play. Tay has lately told me that he wants to play too so there are 6.
The group will therefore have, 1 tank, 1 healer, 4 DPS. The best is there are no repetitions of class, meaning Marvin choose to be a hunter so he can just shoot and bo chup, and Tay wants to be a hunter too so he can be the 36 killer. This is a bad case as Tay and Marvin have to compete with each other to get the same items. The best is each person takes his own class.

I will choose the role that is left over. So choose away guys.

Reward for my HARD WORK!

After months of raiding, I finally got the item I want. A sword call The Unbreakable Will.
Its the best tanking sword in the game and as the main tank of the guild, I will need it.

The Unbreakable Will Binds when picked up One-Hand Sword 112 - 209 Damage Speed 1.60 (100.3 damage per second) 308 Armor +33 Stamina Durability 105 / 105 Requires Level 70 Equip: Increases defense rating by 21.

Recreating my WoW skin

I knew there was programs call addons that help you play your game better in WoW. Addons like DPS meter lets you find out how much damage you can deal per second or even Xperl that lets you change your character frame.

But I didn't know addons can change the complete look of your WoW interface like a skin.
After viewing a few screenshots of other players WoW interface, I decided to make my own WoW skin.

IT IS DAMN HARD. But quite fun. How I wish I had a bigger monitor and a more powerful graphic card to achieve cool graphics and interface as the screenshot in the last post.

Number 3:2 seems to be the coolest, because I am fighting a shiny blue dragon, but I didn't like it much cos I had to keep an eye on my skills(so once it refreshes, I can use it immediately), an eye on the enemy health and whether my spells duration have timed out, and an eye on my buffs. This means I need to look at the bottom, Top right and right side of the screen at all time. Very very tiring.
So i designed option 3. Haven't tested it out yet but I made all the important stuff at the bottom of the screen. In this way I only have to watch out for the enemy debuffs which I positioned at the top right hand corner. With the added space, I can insert a DPS/Threat Meter that tells me how much damage and threat I am dealing.

And one more thing, I figure out how to change the fonts from the normal ones to DIABLO STYLED KIND.
So now, u will get to see damage appear like the one in the screenshot below. Cool eh?

after all the negative comments i got for making my hero like the alchemist brothers, i decided to try something more original.

i change my hero's sex and name to barbie. I think it's quite funny to have a girl named barbie to do the tanking while the rest of the muscle man heroes fighting.
