Recently, really feel like settling down with my current SO.
Been looking at HDB website for any prospective HDBs to apply for.

Yes, I know I just got into a r/s with Ann-Marie, but somehow I feel she is the one, and I really want it to work.
So please, instead of being skeptical, why not tag and encourage me instead? If love is not worth fighting for, then whats the point of living? To work your ass off?

Hope she gets better and good luck to me :)

Hello everybody!

Typing this at my 2nd home now..
Been working until 8+ for the last few days. She waited for me a few times all the way. Yes, she was pissed, but overall would like to say thank you for waiting for me.
Would like to highlight to you readers that I knew a girl who would come all the way from Jurong to Pasir Ris to wait for the bf, who is my buddy, to book out when we were in BMT. Sometimes have to wait longer than 2 hours! :p

Ok back to topic.
I, like many of you out there, have always dreamt of having a very pretty girlfriend with very ideal traits.
Well, I have one, but its not exactly a bed of roses.
As the song goes, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn". What an accurate phrase.

There are many cons of having a very beautiful girlfriend. Let me list it out.
1. You have to be fucking handsome too, if not you will feel insecure.
2. If you don't have point 1, then at least be fucking rich.
3. You have 8547643262 competitors.
4. In the eyes of the competitors, you are shit. (Not that you should care though, but still..)
5. Your super pretty gf will get lots of lecherous stares, and if you are very protective, you will feel damn dulan man! Who wants their gf to be taken advantage of?

Anyway, I will have to work harder in order to be with her. To prove to myself that I deserve her and she didn't make the wrong choice in following me.

Recently, there is this guy who confessed to her that he still likes her. Apparently, he has been chasing her for a very long time. Even before I met her.
I don't really want to bitch so much, but he already has a gf, and I feel he is being a Tiger Woods wannabe by having a gf and still doing this kind of things. Just like the Korean guy in the earlier post. WTF man?
Ok, I promised no more bitching.

I'm not going to be a jealous little prick and throw a tantrum. Instead, I'm going to be like Captain Awesome from the TV Show "Chuck".
Just going to have 101% faith and trust. Just concentrate on the loving.

Long time no see, thought u mati

Blogging at *ahem* right now :)

I suddenly have a very strong urge to post this post. To complain. Been bugging me the past few days so I want to blog about it to let it out. Pardon the poor english because I'm at *ahem* so have to be chop chop!

What do people like John Terry, Tiger Woods, Ashley Cole etc have in common?
They are downright fuckers scum of the universe. They don't deserve the money and the woman that throw themselves at them.

Look at Yip. So nice to the gf, but always kana dominated. Until influence him to buy helm of the dominator.

Anyway, the reason why I'm so pissed about these people is because there is this Korean guy at my workplace. He is the Managment Associate to the CEO. He has a Masters, studied in US and skipped army back in Korea. At first, everytime see me smile smile friendly friendly. But now, I know his true colours.

A few months ago, he tried to pick up my gf. He has a gf who is in Korea. But yet, he try to pull this kind of stunt. Sibeh dulan man!

Not only that, he made a personal attack. He told my gf that she deserves better than me.

WTF MAN?!

Not sure where he get his education from, but so god damn smart of him to tell someone who loves me that she deserves better than me. I mean, come on man. Its as good as telling it to me myself!

I know I'm not very smart myself blogging this at *ahem* but fuck it la. Give some slack k?

Everybody in the office thinks he is a nice boy blah blah blah. When I talk to him, I also talk to him nicely and pretend that I don't know. I don't know if he knows I know, but I don't really care. Everytime I talk to him, I always begin every sentence with "Yes flirt/fucker" and end it with "fuck off cb kia."

This is the reason why Singaporeans are so pissed by foreigners. They come here, make alot of noise, steal jobs, steal woman and think they damn big fuck. Well fuck u back asshole.

Let me bring up another example. Do you find this guy familiar?

He don't want to return back to Singapore for trial saying he has diabetes and will "die" any moment.

Well, he is stupid. Singapore the health services so good, won't he have a higher chance of living if he is Singapore?

I don't want to jump to conclusions and say yes he is the one, but now he is main suspect. Additionally, he doesn't want to come back to Singapore. WTF man.

I really hope this bastards all get their karma.

Hello all..
Haven't been blogging lately due to being busy & lazy at the same time.

Anyway, I feel that I should make this post. To update my friends and let them know what is going on.

First things first, I'm sorry to Limin that it didn't work out in the end. Yes, we broke up...
It definitely was not her fault, but I didn't think it was mine either. I guess the reason to give was we were not suitable for each other.
She was a nice gf to me and I appreciated that.
However, I needed her to love me in a way which just was not her way of loving. We tried, but I felt like giving up more than working harder in the end..

Ok, sad stuff over.. now comes the happy part..

I met this new girl. :)
Its a bit quick, but I guess when it comes, it comes ;)
Don't ask me to compare who is better, cos I would be a jerk to compare, so NO!
And in case you are wondering, no, she is definitely not a substitute, and I didn't leave Limin for her.

We just started, and I have to admit that I'm having a ball of a time.
The last weekend we spent it nearly 24/7.

Newcastle: Part 2

In my first Newcastle game, I used this database called Wally. I found out later that he had updated certain player stats, especially of his favourite team. This caused massive unbalance to the FM transfers world, so I made a restart. This time, I used the database similar to what Marvin used, which was called FM Weegie.

After being inspired by fellow manager Marvin Yip, I went to start a new game in FM with Newcastle.

I have never been a fan of Newcastle because they are an underachieving club. However, it seems that this is the perfect time to lead them. They have just been relegated, are in need of a new face lift and in need of some leadership. Similar to Yip, when the board was undergoing a takeover, my job was on the line. However, I am very certain I will be able to persuade them to let me keep my job.I immediately got to work offloading the bad apples of the squad. I have always disliked Joey Barton as he is a bad influence, so I didn't had any hesitation selling him immediately. Geremi and Cacapa were also not needed so off they went.
I'm looking to sell some of the old players that are on massive wages like Duff, Viduka and Alan Smith. I was quite disappointed with Alan Smith. I used to look up to him when he was at Man Utd, but he has been letting me down in recent games, shooting wide and missing good chances.

I bought some youth players to replace the older ones, with an eye for the future. In came Mark Beevers, Danny Rose and Frederico Laurito. I wanted to buy a midfield centre, but couldn't find any good ones. While I was browsing the Barcelona youth team I saw this young striker called Ruben Rochina. He was on the transfer list for only 2,000 dollars ! That is dirt cheap.

I'm quite happy with this discovery and I already have Martins tutoring him.

The job has been quite taxing on me, and I find myself very tired/lazy to meet Limin nowadays. Hope she understands. Finally, I hope that FM will take my mind off some depressing matters.

Short getaway!

I find that I didn't really relax to the max in Australia. Everyday had something to do and everyday we walked until our legs are so tired.

I want a holiday where its just relaxing, spa/massage, sleeping, just lazing about, eating good food and just living like a king.
The place has to be cheap, because I want to live like a king, but I'm not rich like a king.
I'm thinking of a few places, mainly Langkawi, Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket), and Bali. Any more ideas?

If I save up alot during my 6 months of internship, I would not mind going on a holiday to HK or Taiwan, or somewhere within a 2-3k budget.

Hope I get my permanent job though! Last year the intern got offered a full time job even though the economy was going to collapse, so I'm praying with all my might that I get offered too! Salary is not really important, as the potential for growth in my position is very big. The colleagues in my department all stay in Newton, Harbourfront area.

So pissed off with Qantas!
When we went to Australia and decided to change our flights, the girl quoted us 168 SGD. However, when the bill came, it was 168 AUD!

I called Qantas today, and the lady that picked up the phone keep saying that I heard wrongly. But, I remembered asking her twice because Josh was beside me reminding me to ask. So I am definitely correct. After I told the lady that I want to speak with her superior, she said that it will not happen, and she just put down the phone on me!

PISSED TO THE MAX! I am never ever going to take Qantas, and if possible, I will spread this story to as many people as possible. Already at work, several Germans agreed to me that Qantas was the worst airline flight that they took. Got this German girl, her luggage was delayed by several hours, so when she wrote an email to Qantas requesting a letter to show the insurance company so she could make a claim, they didn't reply at all. She sent 6 different emails but nobody replied at all.

I emailed Qantas because no choice, the call centre say only they can help me. So really bo bian. I dare Qantas to retrieve the phone call if the conversation was recorded. I dare them to apologise to me for their mistake and for the lady whose manners are just atrocious.

Honestly, I really think they won't. I don't even think they will waive the exchange rate difference and charge us what they originally quoted.

So now, instead of the planned 2,800 SGD, I have spent 3000 SGD on the Australia Trip. DULAN MAN!

Every day after work I come home and don't know what to do. I have no entertainment.
I finish bathing and eating by 8.15, so I have about 4 hours before I sleep. And I don't know what to do in those 4 hours.
I was thinking of playing WoW retail version, but I don't think I will have the commitment to play it all the way. No point playing.

Here are a few suggestions on what I can do in my leisure time.
1. Buy a TV in my room.
2. Buy a PS3.
3. Buy both :D
4. Get a hobby like sewing or [insert hobby] etc
5. Read

Anymore? I really can't think of any. Please help!

Bad news!

1st setback:
On Friday, I took a bus to the MRT station with a colleague. He strongly believe that the company will not give me a job after the 6 months. Not because I am inadequate or not good enough, but the department I work for is one that is fit for high position managers etc.

I agree that the department is filled with capable people (i.e they know 4 languages and have Masters and their excel is superb), so I felt very discouraged when I heard that. So, I told him that its ok if I'm not hired in the same department, as I would not mine being in another department. However, he have to break my heart again by saying that the headcount has frozen and they are actually cutting back.

I guess I have to believe what my boss says that if I work hard, impress and the economy improve such that the company needs to hire, they will hire me. Fighting!

2nd setback:
About a month ago, the company wanted to hire me but wanted to have some assurances that I could defer my reservice. The army on the other hand wanted to have some assurances that I would definitely be hired. As both parties needed some assurances, I found it hard to please both. Eventually, the company decided to trust me, hire me and gave me the relevant documents I would need to defer.
However, I found out that in order to be successful for deferring under "New Employment", the job has to be in the 1st 3 months!
I was hired on the 24th June and my reservice is on the 19th October, making it 3.5 months! I am now very very worried that I won't be able to defer my reservice, thus lowering my chance of being hired.

I really hope that the army can open their eyes and for once, don't be so rigid in making decisions. Hope they consider the economy and the job market before making a decision. Wish me luck. Fighting!

On a lighter note, I was intro to this show called We Got Married. Its a reality show where two people have a fake marriage and live together for a few months. Its a very funny show and I kept laughing throughout.
I am also in love with this girl call Hwang Bo. =)

She does not have the typical cute or pretty face but I find her very attractive. She is a bit tom boyish and very sporting. I love her laughter and it is very infectious. On top of that, she knows how to cook and sew! Very ideal wife!
There are so many plus points to her side that I think she is my dream girl. The kind of girl I like. Hope Limin is reading =X

My job

I am currently working in Allianz as an intern in the Property & Casualty Regional Department.
The Allianz branch I'm working in is more of a regional HQ rather than a company selling products. It means that in Allianz in other countries and in Singapore do their work and send the accounts, info etc to the HQ. There the data is tabulated and assessed. I'm working in the HQ.

As it is the HQ, there are many top bosses working there. I am very impressed by the top bosses. Most of them including the caucasians, know at least 4 languages. English, Chinese, Japanese and Mandarin. They are frequently not around as they are in meetings or overseas attending meetings.
Additionally, they are well-skilled in IT. Some of the excel spreadsheets they churn out are fantastic.
I'm thinking of taking a course in MS Excel to be a master too.

My duties include,
1. Monthly reports
2. Compiling of data for strategic dialogues
3. Market research for China
4. Economic research
5. Some secretary duties

These duties might seem easy at first sight, but it really is a step up from a temp job. Alot of things I have to learn myself and google to find out. The use of terms is also very foreign to me. For example, from the monthly reports, I have to write stating what cause profits to be higher or give reasons why the dip in premiums is due to the economy etc.
As I'm still very new, I can't crap on these things.

Although it has been tough to adapt so far, I really hope that they will keep giving me new things to do, as it has been quite boring for the first 2 days. I hope things will start to pick up and I will learn and able to apply it to my work.
If you study very hard, you will certainly enjoy the exam as you can answer every question. If you don't study, you will go to the exam and come out feeling like shit. Thats the analogy.
So, wish me luck and hope I will be able to pick up the pace. Already I am starting to learn the acronyms such as CAGR, PICC, GWP etc.

Anyway I woke up at 9am today and received the call that I have been accepted into the internship. Its an insurance company and the salary is 1.8k.
Its not sales, but its more of an operations role. The head of department even told me that there might be a chance that I can go to Germany!
Quite excited about it :)

I told them I will be ready to start on the 21th June. So I guess when I come back from Australia, I can start to get ready. However, I asked them if I am offered a job during the internship, will I be able to accept it. The HR lady told me that she needed to talk to the head regarding this and get back to me. Think I scared her!

So what do you guys think?
Its a job that I wanted and its what I want to do, but the main drawback is its an internship that has no guarantee that I will be hired.
If you were offered this kind of job, will you accept it?

I woke up this morning because of a phone call and surprise surprise, it was UOB. They were willing to interview me for this Management Graduate Program. I scheduled it on 19th June as I will be back on the 18th June.
So exciting!

I don't really know the job scope of this Management Graduate Program yet, and I am going to be really cautious. I will be ruthless and fight for the job scope that I want. What's the point of working if you are not happy with your work?

I'm also going to call the insurance company and inform them that I will be going on holiday, so I would need a decision from them asap. I forgot to ask them in depth what my job scope will be like, and I only got a short overview of it. I will learn my lesson and bombard this UOB interviewer with 100 questions.

Anybody want anything from Australia?

Its F4!
Limin is crazy over the 3rd guy from left. But I think the last guy looks better. Although his yellow hair sucks.
There are lots of pretty girls in this drama too, and its definitely much better than the Taiwan version.
I like this model cos her boobs are big! A pity she only appear in a few episodes.
Next time, I'm going to come up with my own version of F4. I think this kind of story can earn big bucks.

Terminator - What is it about

After Terminator 4 came out, many people asked me what the hell is happening and how come Kyle Reese who is so young can be John Connor's father etc. I'm writing this blog post to clear up the confusion and hopefully ignite some interest in the Terminator series, which I feel are very good movies.
Ok, here goes..
Before we proceed, I want you to forget about everything you have seen or know in Terminator. Just let me start explaining from the beginning, and then I will explain in detail.
Terminator 1
- Year 2020+
Mankind are at war with the Machines, and the humans are winning. The humans are lead by, John Connor. The Machines in a desperate attempt to win, build a time machine and send a Terminator, a T-800 (Arnold) back to 1985 to kill John Connor's Mother, Sarah Connor. The humans capture the time machine and send Kyle Reese back to 1985 to protect Sarah Connor.
-Year 1985
In this year, Sarah Connor is not yet married and do not have a son yet. She forges a r/s with Kyle Reese while on the run from the Terminator and as a result, became pregnant. Kyle Reese managed to destroy the Terminator, but died from his injuries.

Terminator 2
- Year 2020+
The Machines send back a more upgrade and modified Terminator (T-1000) to 1995 to kill a 10 year old John Connor. The humans responded by capturing an old Terminator model, T-800 (Arnold), and send it back in time to protect John Connor.
- Year 1995
John Connor and his mother managed to destroy the T-1000, with the help of T-800(Arnold), and also destroyed the company that created the machines, Cyberdyne Corporation. They believed that the future is unwritten yet and they can change the future from happening.

Terminator 3
- Year 2020+
The machines again send back a more upgrade and modified Terminator (The female robot) to 2005 to kill a young John Connor. The humans responded by sending Arnold back in time to protect him.
- Year 2005
Judgement Day happened and John Connor realised that the future cannot be changed. You can only alter the events leading up to it, but there is no escaping the future.

Terminator 4
-Year 2018
Because there is no escaping the future, John Connor knows that in the end the humans will win the war. However, he have to ensure this by making sure that key events happen, such as sending Kyle Reese back in time to protect his mother. The machines also know that they will lose the war, so to prevent this, they are searching for Kyle Reese.
However, John Connor found Marcus Wright, a cyborg that is half human, half machine and begins to lose confidence in the theory that there is no escaping the future and that the humans will win the war.
However, he still sticks to the belief that he has to save Kyle Reese. As a result from his fight from the Terminator (Arnold), his face was cut. This wound can be seen in Terminator 1 and 2.

So, it again confirms the theory that the future is already set, and the humans will win the war.

Terminator Models
T-1: A machine that has wheels as legs. Very dumb and clumsy
T-600: A slow moving Terminator. Has a human endoskeleton.
T-800: A strong Terminator that is massively upgraded. The machines give him human skin, eyes etc so he will be able to blend into the crowd. He can genuinely sweat, bleed and able to impersonate voices. This is Arnold's character.
T-1000: Appear in Terminator 2. Played by Robert Patrick. This Terminator is made of liquid metal and so is able to change forms/shapeshift.
T-X: Appear in Terminator 3. The female robot. Also made out of liquid metal, but this time has weapons from the future built into her. So she can fire lasers etc.

The time-space paradox
The terminator deals with the time-space paradox.
The paradox is simply, say I build a time machine and travel to the past and kill "me in the past". As I will die in the past, I won't be able to build a time machine in the future. And if I can't build a time machine in the future, I won't be able to go back in time and kill me. So I won't die.
This is the time-space paradox.
However, the terminator suggests that major events won't change or be prevented. You can only alter the minor events leading to it.
So, if a person, say Bob, was supposed to die in year 2010, because he got in a car accident when drink driving. He managed to prevent it from happening by not drink driving on that day. But, he will still die from a car accident, for example he gets knocked down instead.

So in the Terminator series, if Kyle Reese failed to save Sarah Connor, another person would still take up the leadership in the future and win the war against the machines.
This is the theory that the Terminator offers.

Timeline
I have made a timeline to explain the events of the story clearer.

Timeline 1: Sarah Connor meets an unknown man and gives birth to John Connor. Judgement Day happens and John Connor becomes the leader of the resistance, leading the humans to victory. The machines send back the Terminator back in time to kill Sarah Connor. The humans send back Kyle Reese to save her.

As a result of this, a new timeline has been formed.
Timeline 2: Instead of Sarah Connor meeting an unknown man, she meets Kyle Reese and gives birth to John Connor. This is why in the future, John Connor is 30+ while Kyle Reese is only 18+, but yet Kyle Reese is John Connor's father.

Ok, the end. Hope it wasn't confusing for you.
I believe that the next terminator movie will show Kyle Reese being send back in time. Possibly the Terminator(in T2) too.
Can't wait for it!

Investment Management

I have IM (investment management) tomorrow at 10am. I feel I am ok for it, but I think I'm being abit too complacent. I keep thinking that I know everything already, but the truth is I have been revising that for so long, that everything feels old to me, but when the exam comes, I won't remember.

I also have an interview tomorrow after my exam. Its not a full time post though, its a 6 months internship. I don't know if I should take it up. I'm worried that I will lose out to someone who just go straight to full time. I'm going to go there tomorrow and ask various questions pertaining to the internship and see if it suits me, or suit a student better.

I'm hoping that the internship suits me and I take it up, as I don't have much confidence in getting a good full time job now. Every job available is related to sales, and I don't want to go into that industry.

Bad News

Yesterday was my first paper. MSM.

This paper is supposed to be the easiest. But I screw it up.

There was a 19marks question and I thought it was super easy and did it, yaya papaya style.
But at the end, I realised I had it got it all wrong! It was a silly silly mistake.

So 19 marks poof disappeared.

I'm so sad now. Maybe I can't even get my 2nd Upper!
I just have to pray that I get the other questions correct and I won't make the same mistake in the other 3 of my papers.

FM09 Top players to buy Updated!

Since there are alot of people from various parts of the world coming to my blog to see my FM post on my list of Top 5 players to buy in FM, i thought I will do an update on that since the latest patch is now 9.03.

As the database has now been updated, many players have their stats changed. You won't find Mascio anymore. Such a pity as he was immense for me.

As I love playing the the club I support, which is Derby in case you don't know, most of this players are suitable for a club around Derby status. All money is in pounds and every player cost less than 5 million.

In no order of importance,

1. Frazier Campbell, SC - Man Utd
This guy is on loan with Tottenham in the first season, but in the 2nd season you can pick him up for as low as 2.5million! He is young, fast and able to finish well. Although he won't become a super star, he is good enough for mid-table clubs.

2. Frederico Laurito, SC - Udinese
This Argentinian is the complete striker. He has good pace, acceleration, jumping and strength. You have to buy him in the first season at a cheap price of 1.5million, but you won't be able to use him until the 2nd season as he is on loan. In the 2nd season, he will return to his parent club (Udinese) and they will sell him at 5 million+. So, get him while he is cheap.

3. Mauro Zarate, AM/FRC - Al-Sadd
This Argentinian is quite famous already, so no need to talk much about him. He is on loan at Lazio for the first season, so you can only get him in the 2nd season. In the first patch, Lazio will always exercise the first option clause, so you can't get him. However, in patch 9.03, they won't. You have to act fast though as many clubs are interested in him. Once he goes back to Al-Sadd, bid for him for 3.5million. He is very quick and able to score spetacular goals!

4. Joe Mattock, DL - Leicester City
In my previous guide, there wasn't any defenders, so this time I will add 2. Joe Mattock is only 17 years old, so if you buy him in the first season, he can become home-grown in 3 years time. A solid leftback that you can get for only 2.5 million first season.

This defender has good marking, heading and tackling ability. The bad thing about him is his pace and his determination. Both are around 11. If you can get someone with a high Determination stat to tutor him, he can be very good. Liverpool made a bid of 20 million for him in my game! He only cost 1.5million in season 2.

Employment issues

This is a long post with no pics, so be ready.

Last night, I had a nightmare. I dreamt that I went for an interview for a world class job at a world class company.
They asked me if I could explain to them the debacle regarding Lehman Brothers and why did they file for bankruptcy. I knew that it was somehow linked to the sub-prime mortgage issue and they having too much toxic debts on their balance sheet that caused them to fail. But I didn't know how were these issues linked.

I woke up and went to google it and read up on it.

I have been drafting my resume recently, but no one has called me up yet. I thought about what are the jobs that I want and came up with this list.
1) Underwriting
2) Risk Analysis
3) Investment Management
I feel these 3 are top of my list. Risk Analysis and Investment Management can be in an insurance firm or a bank, no difference to me.

I also contemplate going into sales. I really don't have a good impression on sales as the probability of you being successful in sales depends on luck. Yes, determination and good sales pitch etc plays a part, but this job needs luck to meet the potential buyer. Without luck, you won't succeed no matter how hardworking you are.

However, I recently notice that HSBC was offering the Personal Banker Associate Programme. I was very pessimistic at first, as the job title sounds more like Salesman.
But, I read the job description and notice that it is more of a programme, where you start in sales and you can fast track your career to be a branch manager. I don't mind this programme as long as I won't remain in sales for the rest of my career. I can go in the programme, finish it and use the experience to apply for other jobs.
The disadvantage would definitely be you can be stereotype as a salesman, and it will be hard for you to switch career paths. I saw this first hand with one HSBC Insurance staff. She applied as a customer service officer, and now is finding it hard to switch careers.
Nevertheless, I applied for it. I figure I can use the interview as a chance to train up my interview skills. Additionally, it gives me the chance to speak with the interviewers on more information about the job scope.
It also gives me the chance for professionals to review my CV. If my CV is impressive enough, they will call me up. If not, they won't call me and I know there is something wrong about my CV.

Deep down inside me, I am hoping they do call, as if they don't, I don't think I will be able to take that kind of rejection.

I have also been dreaming on what I will do with my salary if I get hired. Here is a top ten list of things I want to do with my salary.
In no order of importance,
1. Repay my debt to my brother. He paid for my holiday and my exam fees.

2. Bring Limin's parents out for dinner. They treat me dinner on numerous occasions and I think it would be polite and nice for me to do the same.

3. Buy Limin something she deserves. I didn't have much money during my 3 years in SIM, and couldn't treat her eat or buy her fancy stuff. I know she doesn't hanker after branded goods, but I still want to do it.

4. Buy a new computer. My current computer, which I got in 2007 has broken down at least once in every year. Worst computer ever.

5. Buy for myself new clothes/bags/shoes. Again, I didn't have much money so I really need new clothes. Majority of my clothes were bought during my army and SIM Year 1 days.

6. Give my maid money to buy groceries. My maid always complain to me that my mother doesn't give her enough money to buy groceries. So she always have to make do and improvise. I'm going to change that by giving her enough money to buy me Coke.

7. Manage my own investments. My insurance is paid for by my mother. I intend to review the insurance and change it to something that I need. Additionally, I have some money in some blue chips. I intend to manage and invest in that area as well.

8. Remove my dark eyebags. This issue is a big problem. I don't mind plastic sugery as it won't alter my looks drastically, but it definitely will stop others staring at me or making panda jokes.

9. Go on a holiday with Limin. As we stay so far apart from each other, we tend to spend less time together than the average couple do. I want her all for myself for awhile. I believe it is something I deserve for still being in the r/s despite so many obstacles!

10. Save. I have a bigger plan for my investments, and in order for it to succeed, I need funds. No better way of accumulating funds than saving. So I will try to make it a point to save.

I need a job first though :(

My right lower jaw is in pain.
I went to see the doctor, as I was very scared it might be mumps, but in the end turn out to be my wisdom tooth.
I can't see a shit in the mirror, so I don't know if the doctor is bluffing me or he has eagle eyes.

I ate campbell soup today. So hungry.
Esther said I will get skinnier.

Anyway, why are so many people so scared of working in the insurance industry?
When I tell them I want to work in the insurance industry, the face immediately change.
I think the insurance industry's reputation is bad, because of the super competitive insurance agents. The methods these agents use to promote their products are very fierce and I think it has made many people have a mindset about insurance.

Maybe because I don't post very often.
Maybe because my posts are boring.
Maybe because I am not very popular.

My results

I was reading Tay's blog and he said he need a total score of 230.15 out of his last 4 subjects. I decided to write a post on this so I can keep track of my results.

After some calculations, I realised I need a massive 295 out of my last 4 subjects! This means an average of 73.5!

Fortunately, UOL give honours based on the number of modules you get that is in that class, rather than the aggregate of your results, so I don't need to get 73.5 for my last 4 modules.
The aggregate score is for people who got 4 modules and need 1 more module to get an honours. UOL will then calculate the aggregate score. If the total aggregate score is high, then they will give the honours.
Since I have 3 modules in the bag, I just need 2 more.

The reason why my aggregate is so low compared to Tay is because I had 2 modules that got 40+. Just passed by the skin of my teeth.
However, I have 3 modules that got more than 60, so to get 2nd upper, I just need 2 more. I have decided to aim a bit higher, and try to get all 4 modules more than 60.

This is my aim for this year.
MSM: >70
IM: >60
FI: >60
VSA: >60

I seriously think this is achievable and I am not going to repeat last year mistake of getting sick and being complacent.

I thought about it and realised that I'm 24 years old!

In some countries, men who are 24 are already working, have a family etc.

The eldest girl just got a new scooter and she happily carried it up for me to have a closer look.

Recently, I had to format my iPod due to some problems upgrading the software.

Therefore, I decided to use the opportunity to make a new theme.
After browsing through many themes, I finally decided to settle on this. It's called Buntis and I took last night to install it in my iPod.

Very worried

I am feeling very worried.
All the gloom and doom in the economy, and I'm so worried I cannot find a job.

The only things I can advertise myself is that I'm ready to be a slave and and I'll do anything to prove myself.

Anyway, I was speaking to Limin about the career fair, and I will honestly believe that I won't benefit from going to either the JobsDB, or the SIM career fair.
I rather spend the time going to recruit agencies and let the professionals do their job.

Also, I'm not sure why everyone thinks my results are good. I did well in Year 1, but couldn't keep it up in Year 2. Although I have a better chance of getting 2nd Upper than Ghim Hong, his overall aggregate is better than mine, and he has more As too.
As a result, I wasn't invited to the Networking Session held by SIM.

I went to called up my mother's broker the other day and asked him how I can be a financial analyst.
His first advice was to apply for small, local brokerage firms.
His second advice was to apply for the CFA examination.

I immediately went to create an account on the CFA website.
I have never believed in God or a divine being, but if there is someone out there, please help me out on this one. Its the most important step in my life.

New Phone

As Dabing and Ghim Hong and Angel all went to buy a new phone, I decided that it was time to get one too.
I called Starhub and asked them if there is any loyalty points/vouchers for me, since I am going to recontract.
They obliged and sent me a $50 voucher.

After browsing through all the phones available, I decided to get this.
I got the Silver Colour version. I think it looks more stylish compared to Black, although Limin and Ghim Hong disagreed.
Limin thinks Black is nicer, which I can understand as Black looks stylish too.
But Ghim Hong thinks I should buy PINK colour. It actually looks red, but the design says its pink. Anyway, after this incident, I conclude that Ghim Hong's fashion sense is quite jialat.

After my $50 discount, it cost me $48.
I went to buy a screen protector and that totals up to $54.

I went through alot of hassle to get this phone as it was out of stock at quite a number of places.
After going to Tampines Mall and Plaza Singapura, I finally found the Silver Colour at UOB Plaza.
Was close to losing my mind just because of the unavailability of stocks.

The last week I really wanted to study for my IM test.
However, I found my timetable packed to the max. Couldn't even find time for my new FM game, manager of West Ham.

Monday: School
Tuesday: Went out with Limin
Wednesday: Went out with Army friends

Friday: School

Although 2 of the days I spent it with Limin, it was well worth it. So fun!

Anyway, I was informed that mid February will be my mock exams. Its so damn fast!
I have got to start studying already!

Hello everybody!

I'm all alone this new year!!!

I'm soooooo bored. Anyway, I notice that I have spent every new year eve alone! :S

Oh well... back to Football Manager. Its spending more time with me than my gf.

On a lighter note, I was reading the newspapers and was thinking maybe I can be a teacher too. Definately not right after graduation, but maybe after working for probably 10 years in the finance industry.

I don't have to teach in JCs etc, but I can teach in polys, private universities etc. I think that is a good career alternative.
I have a conscience so I won't let the students down. Going to be just like Phil Stephenson and be damn zai in my notes.

Bird Nests can fucked you up.

I went for a birthday dinner, those similar to wedding kind, and they served birds' nests as the dessert.

I went home happy happy with a full stomach, and by 2 am, I was fucked up.

My eyes were so swollen, my lips were abit swollen, and I had block and running nose.
My face literally looked like this.... -_-

I could barely open my eyes and I felt itchy all over.

Went to the doctor first thing the next day.

The Class of Derby County

Here is the team that I have using for FM09. It is one of the best I ever had.
It gives me great joy to introduce them.
Some of the players I use FM Scout to search for them, but some of them I really took hard work and sweat to find them.

Formation: 451

Here is the formation I have been using.
Striker: The striker has to be "modern" and be able to fulfill a number of roles. He has to be able to score, hold the ball up and push the opponent's defensive line deeper, thus creating more space for the midfielders.
Attacking Midfield: The striker is backed up by 3 attacking midfielders, making forward runs and causing havoc. They are all quick, creative and intelligent.
Midfield: This is followed by 2 midfield centres who protect the back 4 , so they have to have good tackling, work rate and stamina.
Full Backs: The modern game requires full backs to be able to attack and defend. Therefore, they have to be speedy, high work rate, stamina and good positioning. They won't be doing much tackling, as their jobs is to intercept balls and block crosses from coming in.
Centre Backs: At first I wanted them to be able to head the ball, strong and aggressive, just like Sol Campbell. However, the modern game requires them to have some kind of pace as well. I was lucky to find 2 defenders to have both.
Goal Keeper: Often under-rated, I think the goal keeper is one of the most important player. I always look for players with good reflexes, agility. command of area and aerial ability. In this way, he can DOMINATE his area and block any attacks, whether they are high or low shots.

1. Ben Foster
He is reliable and stable. No mistakes made by him, but also no games that he becomes a spiderman and saves every ball that comes his way.
I bought him in my second season with Derby and he has been ever present in my team.
A solid buy at just 1.5 million.
Highly recommended for weak to mid table teams.

2. John Williams
He came from Derby's youth team. I was surprised to find him in my reserves and although he is not world class, he definately has the stats to suit my team and style of play.
This season his contributions have not been very outstanding, due to his poor defending.
However, his attacking form is very good as he has contributed 4 assists this season.

3. Gary Grant
I found this player myself! I bought him from Blackburn(sorry Tay) for a cheap fee of just 4 million.
In just 1 season, his reputation became world class and he was called up for the England team.
He became a regular, replacing Ashley Cole at just 21!
He is one out of 4 world class players in my team.

4. Francesco Buriani
This Italian defender came to me in a very very weird way.
I didn't find him, but my assistant manager did.
I was looking for a defender centre, and I asked my assistant manager for any recommendations. He recommended Buriani and I took a look at him.
At first, I was very sceptical as Italians cannot adapt to the English lifestyle. But his stats were so good that I plunge into it.
At that time, he had just signed a contract with A.S Nancy, a french team. However, the contract he signed lasted just 1 year! Needless to say, I picked him up for free after 1 year. He is the 2nd of my 4 world class players. =)

5. Danny Price
Another player from the famed Derby Youth Academy. Like John Williams, I didn't know he exists until I had an easy game to play and wanted to rest some of my players. He came in, did a good job defending and when Liverpool wanted to buy my first team defender, I sold my defender and let Danny Price make the step up.
He was highly recommended by my players and coaches to be the Captain.
At just 22, he is my captain.
Although his defensive stats are fantastic, his attacking stats are shit. Really shit.

6. Luke Marsden
Ok, I use FM Scout to find this youngster. I was a bit short on midfielders at that time. I wanted a hard tackling midfielder. I decided to be like Arsene Wenger and invest in youth. So I use FM Scout to find me the player with a high potential.
However, I really did not expect him to develop until to be so goooood.
His long shots are just superb. The only flaw I think is he is not aggressive enough and he can't head the ball for nuts.

7. Danny O' Connor
This guy I am DAMN proud of. He came from my youth team and my assistant manager say that he is probably the best player of his generation.
He is only 19 years old and yet his stats look very similar to Steven Gerrard.
Really, he seems superb in every way I look at him.
If I really have to criticise him, I think it would be his heading.
But seriously, I am damn blessed to have a player like him.

8. Luis Suarez Gonzalez
I bought this player for 18 million from Reading. My original right winger, Giles Barnes, had an attitude problem so I sold him. I couldn't find a replacement, so decided to spend big on him. I have no regrets though because he is turning out to be quite a good player.
No flashy shows like Ronaldo, but he is very efficient.
I just like to see him take the ball, dribble down the right flank, and cross for Chris Pearce to score!

9. John Fleck
Like Ben Foster, he is a real life player. Only both of them are real life players. The rest are regens that are generated by the game randomly. In this way, you will never play the same game twice.
I forgot about this player but Marvin reminded me of him.
In real life, he is dubbed "Wayne Rooney of Scotland".
He used to be good, but compared to the rest of my team, he is ok. However, I have some feelings for him as he has stuck with me for nearly 6 years.

10. Sam Roberts
Ok, he looks weird. But he is WORLD CLASS. He links up with Chris Pearce damn well. Many times, he takes the ball runs through the middle, and just slots the ball for Chris Pearce to run and score.
Simple pass, simple goal.
The only negatives of him is he just can't shoot. His finishing skill is only 13, and although he scores some, but he miss them more.
I will probably ask him to place his shots, in order to increase his scoring rate.
Oh, and he gets injured MOST OF THE TIME.
Stole him from Newcastle for just 2.8 million.

11. Chris Pearce.
This guy needs no recommendation. He is the jewel in the crown.
I wanted to make Danny O'Connor the vice-captain, but everybody liked him so much that I made him the vice-captain.
The only negatives of him, is his preferred foot is right foot only, long shots and positioning. Maybe his passing and bravery needs to be improved too.
But what the heck, he scores 1 goal per game for me. Better than Ronaldo.

Now that you have seen my team, I am hoping for some nice feedback. Who do you think I should replace? Who should improve and in what way etc.
Most of the players, I have some kind of bond with them. I have played the game the "Arsene" way by buying them young and developing them.

Hope you like this introduction as I definately enjoyed myself typing it. Now I feel even more gian to play. MUST CONTROL MYSELF.

EPIC Match

EPIC MATCH.

I was losing 2-0 at half-time. Gave them a damn good "hairdryer" treatment and send them out.

Within 10 minutes I pulled a goal back. But my stupid defender had to get himself red card for a 2 feet tackle.

I thought sure doom. But I played 3 defenders, 4 midfielders, 1 attacking midfielder and 1 striker. I had a feeling Newcastle will try to attack to get a 2 goal cushion, so I played counter attacking.

By 80th minute, I thought ok, another FA Cup gone. Try again next year. But then suddenly, the ball got cleared to my AMC who treaded a through ball to Chris Pearce to score in the 87 minute!

Literally jumped for joy.

Then in the 90th minute, Chris Pearce was 1 on 1 with the keeper again! But Coloccini went to foul him, so its 10 men each.

Then in stoppage time, the ball was crossed in the box for a goalmouth scramble. There was chaos and mayhem as everybody wanted to kick the ball. In the end, the rebound fell to Pearce who just BANG it home!

I jumped up and stand up with my hands raised and my maid say "Crazy", then walked away.

Fantastic victory.

My GF plays football

My girlfriend plays football.

She went to play some water football in Jurong with her friends.
Football is such a contact sport, and she is playing with some guys.
Sure get taken advantage.

Tell her not to go, but she wants to go.
I cannot control her, so I close 2 eyes and say ok, go.

Dabing say definately will get taken advantage. :(

EDIT: Oops. Wrong info. Not playing with guys. lol.

Anyway, today I read in the newspaper that Jazreel won some pageant contest. The thing I want to highlight is that she said she is working as a secretary in some investment firm and hopes to transit to be a junior trader when she graduate.

I'm so impressed. Why didn't the hell I think of that.
I'm always think that part time jobs are stupid because they don't really add to your resume. Therefore, I didn't work for Ghim Hong's call service job etc.

But I should have done what she did. I'm so demoralised now. Already 1 step behind NUS, NTU and SMU students, now I'm 1 more step behind SIM students.

Guess I got to buck up.

Upturn in fortunes

My world class striker Chris Pearce, which I posted in the previous blog post, has been injured for 3 months!

Thankfully, his deputy, Vaclav Kadlec, a Czech Republic striker has taken over his position superbly.

Vaclav Kadlec is a real person in real life, unlike Chris Pearce, and can be bought at the start of the game for a free. :)

Here is his stats.

As you have noticed, his stats is somewhat similar to Chris Pearce. Super in the air, and has good finishing ability. He has pace, although not very fast, but still enough to cause problems to a slow and pushed up defence.
Though not as good as Chris Pearce, he is what I call a complete striker.

Notice his goals per matches. Twice this season, I have played him in the 80th minute and he came off the bench to score a 90th minute goal. Fantastic super sub.
As Chris Pearce is injured, I have played him in 2 matches and he has scored in both. A good deputy.

As for my results, I think I have finally found the sweet spot :)
I used to play short passing football with a normal tempo. I thought that was very similar to the way Arsenal play in real life.
The results I got were not very good. Although I had very high possession and shots, I find that I was creating too little clear cut chances and my possession was due mainly to my players playing very cautious passes.

One day, I read an interview by Fabregas regarding the way Arsenal play football. He stated that Arsene Wenger encouraged them to play forward passes. Mistakes were allowed, but if you give the ball away carelessly, that was not tolerated.
This statement set me thinking. Maybe Arsenal were not playing short passes, but more of passes that were generally more attacking/forward. To conduct my experiment, I watched the match Arsenal vs Wigan.
My theory was proven right.

Arsenal were playing very attacking passes. Only the Defenders were allowed to play short passes that were mainly cautious. They were also capable of long passes when openings were spotted. This was mainly done by Fabregas.

So I went back to FM's tactical board and created a more direct passing tactic. I also made more forward runs for my players. More forward runs = more forward passes.
Direct passing didn't mean that there were more long ball passes, but meant that passes were more direct, more towards goal, rather than trying to keep possession and pass the ball short.
Direct passes can also be on the ground, not just in the air.

I created the tactic and then tried it. The results? Simply superb.

The football has been fantastic to watch at times, and there was always an element of control in the game. Sometimes I had less than 55% possession, but I was always attacking and the opposition chances were long shots at goal, hardly threatening.

Heng today got no school!!!

It's been raining non stop since morning until 1 pm in the afternoon. Limin is still asleep, I'm feeling drowsy due to the lack of sleep and its so cooling!

Feels great to laze around at home. :)
Going to enjoy this precious moment by studying FI.

FM Update:
I managed to get both Oscar and John Fleck homegrown by using an editor. Cheat? Yes, but considering I got cheated in the first place gives me to right to use it. :)

Anyway, I bought this young striker for 5.5 million from Bolton. I had some money to spend and
needed a striker. I found this young kid and Bolton had just been relegated. I was at first reluctant to spend 5.5 million on him as that's all the money I have. But I had a hunch he was going to be a star as his stats is superb for a 17 year old.

This is him as a 17 year old.

And this is him 3 years down the road, as a 20 year old. Notice the difference in stats and value.

Fantastic development. he is going to be my star striker for the next few years. A pity his favoured foot is right only. However, he is really the complete striker. I love strikers height, big, strong and fast. As a lone striker, the ball can go to him in every way and he will be able to feed on it.
The only thing weak about him is his Long Shots, Right Foot Only, Determination, Decisions, Anticipation and Natural Fitness.
Other than that he is puuurrrrfect. :)

Sudden fall in FM09

Ok no WTF.

I bought Oscar and Fleck when they were 18. But they didn't get homegrown status despite being at my club for 3 years. I was so angry that I immediately submitted a post to the FM game forums asking why is this possible.
They replied that they turned 19 during their 1st season, so in truth they were 19 when I bought them.
This is utter RUBBISH.
Cristiano Ronaldo was bought by ManUtd on July 2003 and he was 18 years old. On feb 2004, he turned 19, so he shouldn't be homegrown too.

I replied this answer to the forums and everyone kept quiet. Still awaiting a reply from them.

After browsing throught the forums awhile, I came upon this thread which really sums it all up.

Lim's Top 5 players to buy in FM09

In every football manager game, there are a few precious talents that are young, cheap and waiting to explode on the scene. I have just played finished my 4th season in FM, and am proud to present to you the top 5 players to buy in FM09.

These players are all young, cheap and not meant to throw head first in a big team like ManUtd, Chelsea etc. However, they will serve you well if you are a smaller club.

Lets get rolling.

5. Daniel Aquino - AML/FC, Murcia
This Spanish striker is young, able to play on the left and has good creativity. More of a Del Piero striker than a Ruud Van Nisterooy type. Having pace and strength is what I look for in strikers, as they are able to run fast and yet shrug off challengers from defenders.
The only downside is his preferred foot is his left only.

4. Robert Lewandowski - SC, Lech
This polish striker might differ from game to game as he has a random potential. However, on my game he is RED HOT. He has pace, strength and jumping ability. A complete striker.

3. John Fleck - AM/FLC, Rangers
This guy might be a tad difficult to get for small clubs, but in the 2nd season you can get him for around 3 million. Here is a trick I did to get him. Offer them 1 million to loan him and a 2 million option to buy. They will accept this rather than accept a 3 million offer to buy him outright.

2. Oscar - AMC, Sao Paulo
You can get him for 4 million. Its in his release clause. The only downside about him is his low passing rating. However, he still makes 100 through passes per game. What I like about him is his finishing and off the ball ability. In my game, I slapped a 50 million tag on him, and yet there are numerous clubs ready to pay.

1. Mascio - MC, Cisco
This Brazilian/Italian midfield centre has the attributes to be a tough tackling midfielder or a creative attacking midfielder. You can pick him up for 250k in the beginning of the game. Die die must buy. I bought him in my 5th season on a free transfer. If I had bought him earlier, he would have a homegrown status. Perfect for any club.

Most of the good attackers in the game are left sided. Its hard to find some good right sided players. I know there is a lack of defenders in my top 5, but I really can't find any!

This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long long time.
Strangely, 2 of the good movies that I last saw were cartoons. This and Kungfu Panda.

This movie had everything, action, comedy and some parts of it were quite touching. It was abit predictable, but what can you expect from a Walt Disney movie?

Highly recommend everyone to watch this movie.

Many thanks to Yip for showing me the way. However, you may think that his guide is very detailed, but actually it is not.

I let this girl, who is one of Ghim Hong's gf, follow yip's guide and she got lost several times. In the end, her Ipod still got hanged, and she had to hard restore it.

Anyway, really after zhnging my ipod, I really think it is the world best hardware. You can do anything with it. The only downside is that it can be quite complicated at times. One small mistep can cause your ipod to hang, and then you have to hard restore it.
So, always make a backup!This is how my ipod touch looks like now. i want to zhng it somemore. A little bit of icons here and there and then it will be perfect.

Football Manager Update

Not sure why it posted twice for the last post, but nevertheless here is the update.

I went to the Football manager forums and went to search for help. And I found this guy went to make a 50 page pdf file explaining how tactics should be made and even include an Excel file to help you choose your tactics.
Immediately downloaded it and speed read through it. After applying some of the formula, I'm still losing but at least my players look more compact and more like a team.

After the fans asked me to change my formation, I change from a 442 to a 451. Hey presto!

A fantastic 3-0 victory. :)
Now I'm using this tactic and have some very good results. I'm still losing certain games, but its down to player mistakes rather than my tactics. I'm sure there is room for improvement as I progress through the game. I need to create an ultra defensive tactic that plays counter attacking football against the Big teams and a very attacking and pressing tactic to use against weak teams.

Suddenly, the game is looking more addictive :D

What a horrid time to fall sick. Due to Monday's running in the rain and Tuesday's swimming in freezing cold water, I have fallen ill.

Uninstalling WC3 this very minute cos Dota is such a timewasting of a game.
Sure, there are a few good games, but the negatives of it is more than the positives.

Anyway, on a nicer note, today I went to school to accompany Limin. She had lessons and I didn't so I just studied in school. For the first hour, I was still suffering from motion sickness due to the bus ride and I couldn't concentrate. So I watched Bleach and Soul Eater on my Ipod.
After Limin's break, I had gathered up some strength, and I managed to finish Chapter 1 of FI. So proud of myself.

Chapter 1 of FI basically states why does Financial Intermediaries like banks exists. Not just to safekeep money but they also have other functions.
I swear FI and CF are easy topics once you read the study guide. Hope Limin successfully change Monetary Econs to CF and I can teach her CF. Already draw up a schedule for her in my mind. :)

2nd Year Results

3 words to describe my 2nd year results.

DOOM AND GLOOM.

My 2nd year results totally pull down my total score. Now in my 3rd year, I left 4 more subjects to take. My 4 subjects total must be at least 232, making an average of 58. Furthermore, out of the 4 subjects, at least 2 must be more than 60.

I blame 2 papers for my predicament. Macroeconomics and Corporate Finance.

In my Macro exam, I wrote 3 booklets, covered everything in detail, and yet scored 43 marks. I was expecting 70. Until now, I cannot believe how I scored so low. I only improved by about 10 marks from my mock exam, and in the mock exam, I left the exam hall 2 hours earlier.
To sum it up, I had the most confidence in Macro, but yet I scored the lowest for it.

For CF, I'm really really angry with the school. For the past few years, the type of questions set were all similar to each other. However, in the paper I took, the format of the questions were totally different and never heard before. The questions asked were never asked before. There was not a bit of similarity between past year papers and this years. Past year papers were so easy to do that I had confidence of achieving 70.
Why the sudden change to make if difficult and set questions that is completely different from the past year papers? Are they out for our blood? Obviously, its a sudden change when last time CF used to be the paper everybody scored in and now its the paper everybody failed in.

Pray my 3rd year come through. I don't want to waste all my years of studying just to get a 2nd lower.

Action Movie Awards Part 2

Only Marvin and Baby Min posted, so I think they showed me enough support for me to post the top 5! Anyway, its being a long time since I posted, so here goes the top 5!

5th - Enemy At the Gates
This movie is freaking cool. Its about 2 snipers, playing a cat and mouse game with each other, but trying to kill each other. The tactics and the way they go about their duties are just fantastic!

Its just brilliant.

4th - Terminator
If you haven't seen any of the 3 movies of the Terminator franchise, you must have been living in the mountains. Terminator was a fantastic idea by James Cameron, and he really must have fantastic imagination to come up with a story that has time travel, machines becoming self aware and going to war with the humans, and a heroine who saves the day. Terminator and Terminator 2 was fantastic, but Terminator 3 was quite a let down. Now, there's Terminator 4 coming up, and its about John Connor leading the fight against the machines.

3rd - Sin City
Sin City is a movie that I watched a few months ago, but the way it is being filmed just takes my breathe away. It consists of 3 stories which intertwines with each other. My favourite story is the Bruce Willis and Jessica Alba story arc. Willis said one of the most memorable quotes in the film which is "An old man dies, a young girl lives. Fair trade."
I love the comic book style of the film, it might be in black and white, but the way they use the colours in the film, just amazing.

2nd - Predator
Let's not talk about Predator 2 cos I think its shit, but Predator 1 was really the kind of action films I love. The way Arnold Schwarzenegger resorts to using the environment, setting up traps and using mud as camo to battle with the Predator is just wow! The Predator is just a hunter, who hunts for sport. Remember in Predator 2, after the cop managed to kill the predator? The Predators spared the cop life and gave him a cowboy gun. Well, there was an idea from the producers that they wanted to make a Predator 3, involving cowboys and a Predator. This would be a very good idea as in the cowboy days, there wasn't really much weapons to fight it. However, the idea wasn't materialised but I still hope that 1 day it will.
Predator is linked to the number 1 movie in my list, so I'm sure many of you will be able to guess what it is.

AND NOW, NUMBER 1 ON THE LIST GOES TO......

1st - Aliens
Alien 1 was good, Aliens 4 was ok, nothing fantastic, Aliens 3 was crap but Alien 2 was just AWESOME. This movie was produced by, James Cameron of course. Instead of a leading man, its a leading lady, heroine Ellen Ripley, which is very similar to the Terminator series, which has Sarah Connor as the heroine.
This movie has been copied by many movies, games etc. The design of the Aliens, the idea that Aliens are like insects, even Starcraft has some ideas from them!
So many fans in the world has called for Aliens to fight against the Predator, as in Alien 1, the Alien species was brought to the planet by another unknown alien that was quite similar to the Predator.
Anyway, back to the movie. I really love the part where the American Marines came on the planet being very cocky and arrogant and thinking that the Aliens couldn't match their firepower. However, after the team was nearly wiped, they know that the Aliens are a species not to be messed with.
The final scene of the show is the best. It caught me unexpected when I was watching it as a kid. Highly recommend you people to watch this scene. Here is the LINK.

After this post, I think its quite obvious who I'm rooting for.
I'm a Singaporean, but Singapore is part of the world, and America is the most powerful country in that world.
A change in America, will result in a change in the world. :)

I'm quite supportive of the Singapore government, but I really hope they will take the steps to ensure that Singaporeans are getting the priority to enter local university, the money to enter local university and the money to enter foreign universities if competition is still too tough.

What's the point in a local university if local students are not allowed to enter because of 1 failed attempt at the GCE 'A' Levels?
What's the point in a local university that is built for local students to pursue further education, if there are foreign students, who will leave Singapore after getting their degrees?

Yes, foreigners enhance Singapore's economy, but when they are taking our jobs, taking precious places in local universities, I think it should be curb somewhere, at some point.

I might be abit biased, because I can't enter a local university, but when I found out, that a few years ago, my grades are more than better to enter local university, I just feel so terrible at the state of things. There are competition everywhere!

Top Ten Action Movies I Love

Today on the bus home, I was thinking about the movies I love to watched.
Making a list of them, I noticed that most of it was Action films!
To pay a special homage to action films, I'm taking time out of my studying to compile this top ten list of movies I love.

10: Nikita
Hands up anyone who has heard of this movie before.
Well, actually I couldn't think of my number 10 action movie, so this has to make do for the time being. Its a very nice movie, with lots of breakthrough scenes that inspire lots of other movies. This movie is one of those that has an actress in the leading role.

9: Star Wars
I watched this movie when I was a kid, and I was so engrossed with it, that I remember the lines of those "special" scenes. Those lightsaber fighting, the Millennium falcon, the TIE fighters. FANTASTIC man. Its so incredible, that someone can think up of the idea of Star Wars, when at that age, the ideas of civilizations in space were so far away!

8: Matrix
Another breakthrough movie. With the bullet-mode scenes, there was now a new way of filming fighting scenes. The idea of the matrix was also something refreshing from the usual Hollywood stories, and I just love the idea.
One of my favourites scenes is when Neo rescues Morpheus in the building full of agents and fights his way out.
Dodging bullets, easy peasy.

7: Saving Private Ryan
Its weird how when this movie first came out, I didn't really had the urge to watch it. I wasn't really a fan of war movies as I hate seeing the blood, the gore and the sadness. But, after seeing it, I'm really amazed.
It's such a sad and unfair ending. Out of all the soldiers that were sent to save Private Ryan, only 2 made it out alive. The first 20minutes of the movie was already such an eye opener, and it just took my breath away.
Go catch it.

6: Die Hard
One mad cop, all the bad guys that he can kill, with all the odds stack against him. Its not just Die hard that was fantastic, Die hard 2 and 3 were damn good too. 4 lost a bit of its charm, but its still good. If I had to pick a favourite, I would say Die Hard 2 was my favourite. Bruce Willis always ended up in these weird stuck in a hole scenarios, but he always managed to escape it with a bang!

I hope this post is well-received. I purposely stop halfway to see if the response is good and whether it is worth it to continue posting. Recently, no one is visiting my blog and tagging it. Not as popular as 2swanskiss. If response is good, then I will post my top 5. :D

Just realised I wasted 2.40 on a stupid mechanical pencil's lead. I accidentally bought the 0.7 size when my pencil uses 0.5 size.

FUCKING WASTE AND FUCKING STUPID. WHY THE HELL DOES THE WORLD NEED PENCIL LEAD OF DIFFERENT SIZE?

Just to add on to this posts, I love attacking football. Lots of nice passes and players going forward. That is the way football should be played. So even if Man U is out of the picture, I rather another team like Arsenal win it.

Even after so long of not exercising, I still can do 8 pull ups. And it is not my maximum as I can still do more. So, I think i just need 6 months of training, I can be as good as new.

But my tummy is getting bigger and bigger.
1 thing why my tummy is getting bigger is because I hate running. I can't run well because of my injuries so I hate it.

So after a discussion with Tay, I realise that I can go SWIMMING. I stay in a condo and I stubbornly refuse to go swimming. The reason? Because I am shy about the scar and pimples on my back. And my ever expanding waist line. So I'm going to come out with a new regime.
Swim 30mins per day. I not sure if I can start now during exams time, but I think it will be great if I can swim and then study.

I think instead of Limin lying on my shoulder, she can lie on my tummy. Natural pillow.

As expected, the HSBC Internship thingy was sibeh sian. I am assigned to the Customer Service Dept in HSBC Insurance. :(

Insurance to me, is such a small part of the banking and finance industry. I don't want to work in that department forever. I wanted a job like Jiunbin, financial analyst, where you can look at stocks and the market. Pray that I won't stick in Insurance forever.

Additionally, today I waited for 1 hour for the HSBC woman to come out. She didn't come. So I asked the receptionist to call her infront of me. She didn't come... to work!

I haven't been updating much, but that's because I have been very, nope not busy, but LAZY.

My studying progress is very much well behind what I had planned, and although my MM, CF and Macro is doing ok, I have no faith at all in my POA.

Despite doing burpees in the morning, and restricting my rice intake, I still feel I have not lost a single kilogram. Think I will have a round tummy in 10 years time.

I'm so lazy that despite make so much plans to go out and study, in the end, I stay at home, sit infront of the computer, and touch my work periodically. I'm doomed.

On a lighter note, I have just been accepted by HSBC for my holiday internship. :)
Haven't asked about the pay yet, but I heard from the school that it is 1k per month!
Hope I'm not doing customer service or sales.

I have never been religious. Yes, I have said a few prayers, talk to God when I'm scared but I have never been to church or pray everyday or believe in anything to really be considered religious. I still respect the different religions and its good knowledge to know them.
However, whenever I listen to this song, I just feel that life is so beautiful. Everything seems so calm and clear. Really recommend you to take the time to listen to this song patiently.

All the songs so far are from the 1980's to early 1990's when Rock and Roll was a powerful influence on music. I love Rock and Roll, thats why most of my music are from that genre.

Ipod Madness

After getting my Ipod touch, I thought of stuff to put in. I wanted to watch shows, movies, listen music etc.

The itunes user interface is user-unfriendly! So difficult to put stuff in and sort it out. Maybe its just me cos I'm a noob.

Spendthrift

After 1 month without an Mp3 player, I couldn't take it. My mother wanted to buy a laptop for my younger brother who is in polytechnic. So I asked if she could sponsor me a Mp3 player. At first, I was thinking small, but when my mother said she would sponsor me, I asked for.......
...... an Ipod Touch! It was on sale for $399.

Suddenly, I felt the spendthrift virus gaining a grip on me, and before I realised, I asked if she could buy a memory card for my PSP. My current one is 1gb and that is so small! In the end, I bought a 4gb memory card for $85, sponsored by my mother too :)

I am a spendthrift. Agree/Disagree?

Army Status

Finally after nearly 8 months, I managed to get a downgrade.

I didn't chao geng or do anything funny, I really have an injury.
Yes, its an old injury but it certainly is serious.

I dislocated my right hip severely and suffered a right foot drop after that. I don't have complete strength and mobility of my right leg and it is affecting me as I grow old.

I had to see the Army MO a total of 3 times, before they send me to a proper specialist medical board.
The first 3 times I went to see the Army MO, they look at me and say "You served 2 years of NS as a PES B soldier, so I don't see no reason why you cannot do your reservist as a PES B soldier too."

To me, this reason is just full of shirking responsibilities and ZERO medical ethics.
I volunteered to upgrade myself to PES B, so I can serve the nation better. The Mind says "Persevere", but my Body says "Stop". It came to a point where I might develop Avascular Necrosis.

To the Army MO, his view was: "You have a high chance of developing it, but you haven't develop it, so you cannot downgrade."
Its like saying, you have a high chance of getting lung cancer if you smoke, but you haven't get it, so you can continue smoking.
Shouldn't prevention be better than cure?

Shouldn't they take a more deeper look into my problem, rather than just assuming that I am fit and healthy just because I can run and jump? Yes I can run and jump, but it takes more strength on my right leg and I get sharp pain on my right hip occasionally.

Finally, after continual persuasion that I am experiencing pain when I run and jump, they referred me to a board of doctors who are specialists.
They did some tests on me and I told them, "I have been running with a limp."

They downgraded me immediately.

To them, my problem was deemed so severe that the army should not have upgraded me in the first place.

There was this man in his 40s at the medical board too. He had an accident and a metal pin was inserted in his leg to hold it in place. He was in hospital when his IPPT and reservist was due. He couldn't go because he was still in hospital, and the army charged him. Like me, he had to go through a long process to finally end up at the medical board of specialists where they downgraded him.

It just infuriates me when there are double standards of doing things.

Fitness

My pants are getting tighter, my shirt is getting tighter and I can see an increase in my tummy area.

I'm getting FAT.

I used to think that I have a high metabolism rate. But actually, I have a medium metabolism rate. I managed to stay slim when I was schooling because of an active lifestyle. I had rockclimbing, soccer and PE classes.

Now, I have no exercises, I am starting to see how fat I am getting.
Wanting to lose weight, I went online and search for tips, asked the fitness guru Tay for tips and started to plot out my schedule. So jealous of Tay now. So handsome and got so many girlfriends. So fit and Ippt also no problem.

Every morning when I wake up I'm going to do 3 sets of Burpees with a jump and pushup. Do maximum for 1 minute, rest 1 minute.
After that, I'm going to do 20 crunches, 3 sets with 1 minute resting time.

Not sure it is enough to cut my waistline and become leaner and fitter. Thinking of adding some gym inside.

However, I have a very weak discipline. Just this morning, I only did 2 sets of Burpees and 0 crunches before I managed to convince myself that I should start slowly.
Few weeks before, I arranged to go running with Black Lim once a week, but suddenly it stopped.

*IMPORTANT*
Beg you my friends, please pull me to the gym or do some exercise. I really want to get fit and look good.

After Yip showed me the Michael Jackson video in his blog, I wanted to hear some soulful music. Not music that we are hearing on radio nowadays but the old classics.
Those are more meaningful and more original.

For starters, lets start on The Police.

They sang the song Every Breath You Take, and it was written during the collapse of the lead singer, Sting, marriage.
If you hear the lyrics, you will notice that it focused on how his heart aches and that even though she is gone from his life, he is still pinning for her.

Next we have the legend, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Everywhere you see, there are people doing impersonations of MJ. From the moonwalk, to his pop and lock moves.
Additionally, he writes his own songs, uses his own lyrics and not only is his dancing good, his singing is damn good too.

Lastly, we go to one of my favourite Rock bands. Heart
They are fronted by 2 FEMALE singers. In this video, they play infront of a live audience. Look at the freaking reaction of the crowd. Look at the energy in the concert! I wish I could see one of this kind of concerts.

Listening to all these music while studying, woooot!
I just wanna get up and dance! It gives me the energy to study thruuuu the night!

Valentine Day

I'm so last minute. Didn't plan anything for V-Day.

Until I talked to Tay and found out about his V-Day plans, I decided I should buck up.

So last minute, I devised a V-Day outing with Baby Min. Booked 2 seats at Waraku at East Coast Park and I bought a wallet for her. I bought a very nice box to put the present in.
I wanted to make it more special, so I made some clues and riddles and hid them in the car. I even took the effort to fold the riddles into a heart shape. She had to find the clues and solve the riddles before finding out the password to win the game.

After the game and dinner, we went for a walk at East Coast Park before heading home. It was a normal and tone down outing. Enjoyable and relaxing.

I came home and wanted to haolian my so called "zai" outing to dabing. But realised that he is really the MASTER.

He went camping with Angel. CAMPING.
ZAI MAN.

Babies Galore!

Went to my cousin housewarming party last Saturday. Check out his daughters. So damn CUTE!!!

This is Baby Shyann. A little more over 1 years old. She doesn't cry when I carry her and she is so cute!

Forgot to take any pictures of Baby Camille's room, but I'll try to describe it here. Her room is PINK colour, has a pink bed, pink table and a DVD player with a LCD Samsung TV. She said she is a princess. So young, but already have a drama queen room!This is Baby Charlotte, younger sister of Baby Isabella. Sorry Baby Isabella, I forgot to take pictures of you because you are so unfriendly to me. Unlike her sister, Baby Charlotte is so friendly and doesn't cry when you carry her. She likes tickles :)
